PostHog alternative: Nordva Launch

PostHog is a set of product tools on one event stream: product and web analytics, session replay, feature flags, experiments, error tracking, surveys, a data warehouse, logs, workflows and more. Revenue analytics (labelled beta) reads Stripe as a data-warehouse source or revenue events you capture, and exposes revenue as properties on persons and groups; its dedicated revenue dashboard has been removed. Marketing analytics (opt-in beta) attributes conversion goals to UTM sources and shows ad spend. This page sets it next to Nordva Launch on the things a developer checks first: price, API, MCP support and scope. Vendor facts were read from posthog.com on 2026-09-24; prices change, so verify before deciding.

What PostHog offers

  • Free every month without a card: 1M analytics events, 5K session recordings, 1M data-warehouse rows
  • Uses a first-party cookie by default; cookieless mode ('always' or 'on_reject') stores nothing in the browser, counts a visitor as new each day, adds no GeoIP location, and PostHog advises against calling identify() in it
  • Revenue analytics is labelled beta, reads only Stripe among payment platforms (through the data warehouse), and its dedicated dashboard has been removed in favour of revenue properties on persons and groups; the docs say a Stripe customer has to be linked to a person manually
  • Marketing analytics (opt-in beta) attributes conversion goals by utm_campaign and utm_source and pulls ad spend from Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok, Reddit, Pinterest, Bing and Snapchat
  • Open source; self-hosted deployments are free (MIT) but officially unsupported
  • Remote MCP server, free to connect

Based in United States (PostHog Inc.; its terms are under California law with courts in San Francisco County).

Where Nordva Launch differs

PostHog is a full product-analytics platform with a free million events a month, session replay, feature flags and a data warehouse. Its revenue analytics is in beta and no longer has its own dashboard: revenue becomes properties on persons and groups that you query yourself, and marketing attribution is an opt-in beta built on UTM data. Nordva Launch is narrower: a tracking script, a read-only Stripe connection that traces each paying customer to the first visit, and a view of which channels brought paying customers, next to a waitlist, a changelog and feedback on the same key. It asks less of you to set up and answers fewer questions.

Stay on PostHog if

You want session replay, feature flags, experiments or SQL over your events, or you need ad-spend data pulled in from the ad platforms.

Try the overlap on the free plan.

No card. One key. The MCP server is included on every plan.
